Reading through the 7 1/2 habits of effective learners, I found the easiest one for me is being goal oriented. The Hardest one for me will be using technology to my advantage. Being goal oriented is the easiest because I came back to school with the end goal in mind. I have wanted to be a teacher since I can remember and need my degree to do that. Right our of high school, I would have said that this habit would have been the hardest, because I could not see the end result and dropped out after a year. Going back, I have learned that I am working towards a goal, and four years of school is not too bad in the long run.
Using technology is The habit I will struggle with the most, although I know technology is available to make things so much easier, learning to use it seems way to frustrating. I am slowly opening myself up to learning how to use some of the technology, but it has been a struggle.
Doing the 23 things and learning about web 2.0 will help me learn new ways to use technology that I may have never found out about, and actually learn how to use the ones I am familiar with.
Being goal oriented is my weakness. The use of technology is one of my strong points. I see that we can help each other out with these! You help me with this often when you encourage me to keep up all of my hard work and remind me that there is a goal at the end. Things happening outside of the classroom don't effect my education anymore because you have showed me that I am still capable of succeeding :) This is one of the reasons that I am proud to call you my best friend. Don't stress with the technology, you ave a nerd as your bestie.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Hayley the use of technology is one of my strongest points. I tend to do pretty good with being goal oriented but, of course, there is always room for improvement.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more on technology being a tough habit to overcome! Technology is changing each and every day it's hard to keep up with! Especially there is the possibility of teaching in a low income school; they might not have as much resources available.
